For the second shoot, when all the garments were finished, I did some research on locations, I wanted something that was surrounded by natural objects, lots of rocks, grass, and earth tones. A friend told me about Ilkley cow and calf rock, so I decided to take a quick trip there to see if it was the right place to do the photoshoot. It turned out to be exactly what I was looking for.
I had two models this time, both quite different looking. I had Marcus in the New Nomad Tee and Wanderer Jacket, as I felt they could be styled really well together. I had Jasper in the Repurposed Knit, styled with a simple bomber jacket and on its own. I worked with the same photographer this time as I knew she would understand the kind of photos I wanted from doing the test shoot, I styled and directed the shoot myself.
We made use of the incredibly large space around us, and although a few problems arose, the photos turned out really well. I feel that Sally and I worked well and professional as a team when things started to go wrong; the weather couldn't have been worse but this actually ended up making the photos look better, the dullness of the sky worked well with the vibe of the brand, as I feel if it was really bright and sunny, the shots wouldn't have worked. Because of the weather, the lighting would fall over and occasionally blow away, there were people out walking around the rocks so we had to be aware of this too. In the end it was all worth it because the photos were exactly what I imagined them to turn out like, they work really well with the contrasting first photoshoot and Portray the right message for the brand.
